Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues statement on Armenian National Assembly elections

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the National Assembly elections held in Armenia on June 7.

According to the statement, official Ankara expressed hope that “in the post-election period, Armenia will take bolder steps toward peace and the resolution of the situation in the region.”

“Turkey will continue to contribute to regional stability and prosperity, as it has done until now, in the interests of the countries of the region,” the ministry’s statement reads.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also stated that Turkey supports the process of normalizing relations between Yerevan and Baku.
