Israel’s government decision on the Armenian Genocide is a cause of serious concern, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

“Such steps do not contribute to reconciliation and mutual understanding, but only deepen existing contradictions and hinder efforts to achieve lasting peace and reconciliation in the region. We call on the government of Israel to reconsider this decision. Azerbaijan remains firmly committed to upholding historical truth, respecting the principles of international law, and promoting lasting peace and stability in the region,” the ministry’s statement reads.

It is worth noting that Turkey has also condemned Israel’s decision to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
