During a protest held in front of the “Ararat” cognac-wine-vodka plant, owned by Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), one of the plant’s employees described the situation as terror against the country’s own people.

Speaking to journalists, he noted that as a result of the political conflict, thousands of people have lost the ability to earn a living, which, given the country’s enormous debt burden, could have catastrophic consequences for a great many families.

“They shut down the plant, leaving so many people without work. This means going against the people. This is terror. If the fight is against one person, fight him, why shut down the plant? 90% of people in this country have loans. Who will solve the problems of so many people, how will they be solved?” he said.
