Investigative Committee of Armenia opens criminal case over violence against child in private kindergarten

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal case over alleged violence against a 6-year-old child at one of the country’s private kindergartens. According to the crime-news website shamshyan. com, a nurse pulled the child by the cheeks, after which the child was hospitalized with injuries.

According to Kima Avdalyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, the criminal case was opened under the article on “physical abuse of a minor.” The maximum penalty under this article is up to 2 years of imprisonment. The necessary forensic examinations have been ordered as part of the investigation.
