The website of the pro-government Turkish newspaper Sabah reports that Turkey’s Ministry of Trade, as part of the normalization process with Armenia, has made technical changes to its customs system. This was reported by Ermenihaber. am.
According to the information, Armenia’s official code, “077,” can now be used in customs declarations for import, export, and transit operations with Armenia through third countries. The corresponding changes have already been made to Turkey’s BILGE system.
As part of this process, it will become possible to indicate “Armenia/Turkey” as the final destination or country of origin for goods sent from Turkey to third countries and then to Armenia.
According to the source, trade turnover between Turkey and Armenia currently stands at around $335–350 million. In the short term, the goal is to bring this figure up to $1 billion.
