In case of maximum escalation, situation in Middle East could grow into World War III: Anatoly Matviychuk

Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk commented on the conflict situation in the Persian Gulf region.

“The situation around Iran is quite alarming. It could lead to a regional war of all against all. The fact is that Iran today is forced, in order to counter the expansion of the United States of America, to strike at countries in the Middle East region. Arab countries are offended. They believe Iran is offending them very undeservedly, and they are planning, generally speaking, to take revenge. I fear this could grow into a regional war of all against all. This refers to Israel, Iran, and the Persian Gulf countries, with the participation of the United States of America. And with maximum escalation, this could grow into World War III,” Matviychuk believes.

According to the expert, the parties used the truce as a respite and may now clash again in regional confrontation.

“Each side was building up its forces. The United States of America was transferring forces to the Middle East, Iran was reactivating everything that had been mothballed during the period of strikes. That is, the countries approached the situation in a practically restored, combat-ready state,” the source concluded.
