The current Armenian authorities are so arrogant that they have dragged the country into an international dispute against Iran. This was stated to journalists outside the building of the Investigative Committee of Armenia by Arman Abovyan, member of the Prosperous Armenia Party and former member of parliament.

“Iranian businessmen came to Armenia and proposed setting up an Armenian-Iranian trading house. Given our fraternal relations with Iran, Gagik Tsarukyan agreed. However, these people did not invest a single dollar. All the funding was provided by Tsarukyan,” Abovyan emphasized.

According to him, when the Iranian side attempted to engage in fraud, legal proceedings began in Iran. “As a result, a court of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a lawful ruling recognizing Gagik Tsarukyan as the injured party, and the Iranian businessmen signed an undertaking stating that they owe Tsarukyan 14 million dollars. Our law enforcement agencies, having received a call from above, did not even bother to look into the substance of the case. This is clear political persecution, a signal to the world that Armenia is no longer a state governed by the rule of law,” Abovyan noted.

It should be noted that Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, was again brought to the Investigative Committee today under police escort, where his questioning is set to continue.
