“Forget about blocking roads”: tense situation near Arinj Mall shopping center

Since early morning, a tense situation has developed at Arinj Mall shopping center, owned by Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia party. According to employees, law enforcement agencies are once again conducting operational actions, as a result of which they are unable to carry out commercial activity as usual.

Mall employees attempted to block the road, but police did not allow them to. “You are obstructing the free movement of other citizens. Forget about blocking roads,” a police officer said.

According to the assembled employees, the claim that the closure of the retail units is related to their location beneath high-voltage power lines is unfounded.

“The situation is the same on the sidewalk across the street, go put up yellow tape there too, so they can’t work either,” one of the employees said, addressing the police.

As a reminder, on July 20, investigative actions were carried out at Arinj Mall shopping center, and the operation of 10-15 retail stalls was suspended.
