Rosselkhoznadzor bans imports of dairy products from Armenia starting July 27

Rosselkhoznadzor will restrict deliveries of dairy products from Armenia to the Russian market starting July 27. The decision was made following an inspection of enterprises conducted between July 14 and 21.

Agency specialists identified systemic violations similar to those recorded in 2023-2024. The inspection showed that traceability of goods was not ensured at production facilities, and veterinary accompanying documents were filled out with errors. Shortcomings were also found in risk management systems and production control programs.

Inspectors established that milk from infected livestock had been used to manufacture products intended for shipment to Russia. Enterprises used raw materials from third countries, even though Armenia had previously guaranteed the use of products made exclusively domestically or sourced from EAEU countries.

According to the agency, the republic still lacks an established system for confirming the safety of raw materials, and problems remain with the laboratory base. “Rosselkhoznadzor has taken measures to prevent the introduction of particularly dangerous infections into Russia and the sale of unsafe dairy products on the domestic market,” the statement says.
