Khamoyan to Konjoryan: “Your wife earns $118,000 a year, tell us how she was appointed director of Haypost”

A dispute broke out in Armenia’s National Assembly between Agnessa Khamoyan, MP from the Armenia faction, and Hayk Konjoryan, leader of the Civil Contract faction, over the appointment of Konjoryan’s wife as director of Haypost CJSC and her salary.

The opposition MP accused Konjoryan of nepotism and political corruption, noting that the meeting minutes from the competition are not being provided to journalists.

“In November 2024, your wife was appointed director of Haypost and receives an annual salary of $118,000 (3.6 million drams a month), which is twice the salary of the President and Prime Minister of Armenia. Tell us how she was appointed director, where she worked before, and what your role was in this appointment,” Khamoyan asked, addressing the Civil Contract leader.
