The main criterion for high-paying positions is a connection to the Civil Contract party: Vardevanyan

“Our society should see a completely different atmosphere and environment in parliament.” This was stated at the National Assembly by Aram Vardevanyan, an MP from the “Strong Armenia” faction, addressing the topic of parliamentary culture and the effectiveness of public administration.

“The ‘Strong Armenia’ faction is present in the National Assembly chamber during all speeches. This is the position of our faction leader, since society really should see a qualitatively different atmosphere and environment. The constitutional law ‘Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly,’ like all our legislation, prohibits the use of insulting language from this podium,” the MP noted.

Commenting on models of public administration and the discussions surrounding Haypost, Vardevanyan stressed that the state cannot be an effective manager in the sphere of private services.

“International experience has given a direct answer to this question: the state is a poor manager. It smacks of communism or a ‘red’ culture. So how is it that the Republic of Armenia is rapidly moving in exactly that direction? And what’s the main criterion for appointment to high-paying positions? There’s only one: being a member of the ‘Civil Contract’ party, or connected to it,” Vardevanyan noted.
