Speaking about freedom of speech, I urge you to look at the report by Reporters Without Borders. This was stated in the National Assembly by Marianna Kaghramanyan, MP from the Strong Armenia bloc, addressing lawmakers from the ruling party.
“When you talk about freedom of speech and present it as an achievement of your government, I urge you to look at the report by the respected international organization Reporters Without Borders. It states that Armenia has dropped from 34th to 50th place, marking a significant decline,” she noted.
According to her, before 2018 there were 77 recorded cases of physical violence, while under the current authorities there have already been 82. Pressure on the media, according to Kaghramanyan, amounted to 466 cases before 2018, compared with 795 under the current leadership.
