Court returns lawsuit filed by Liparit Drmeyan against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

According to the “Datalex” system, Judge Alfred Vardanyan pointed out a number of shortcomings: the filing did not indicate Drmeyan’s patronymic or his registration address, and copies of the documents were sent to Pashinyan’s registration address, which does not match his actual place of residence and notification. The submitted materials could not be considered proper evidence that copies had been sent to the respondent.

In addition, the court found Drmeyan’s claims to be unclear and indeterminate. He had demanded that Pashinyan be obligated to “refute, in the same manner and with the same publicity,” a number of statements; however, the wording did not make clear which specific data was to be refuted. The court emphasized that it has no right to clarify or formulate claims on behalf of the plaintiff.

As a reminder, Drmeyan filed suit demanding a retraction of information he considered defamatory. At a briefing on July 30, Pashinyan stated that he was filing a criminal complaint, hinting at Drmeyan and noting that “Electric Networks of Armenia,” managed by Samvel Karapetyan, had a source within the government.
