Economy and Business

Despite the empty shops due to the blockade and the complete siege of Artsakh, the people of Artsakh continue to live and give each other hope.

Adela (Ada) Harutyunyan, born in Martuni, is a nail stylist and hairdresser by profession. The idea of creating bouquets of artificial roses came to her while preparing for another beautiful occasion.

“My sister was about to have a baby, and I was thinking what kind of gift to make, so that it would be both beautiful and original. I accidentally came across a video on the Internet on how to make artificial bouquets of sweets, toys, and different materials. I decided to try and made a bouquet of paper roses, because there are few or almost no fresh flowers. So I did it.”

The first bouquet that she posted on her Facebook page immediately attracted attention, after which Ada received the first order from our compatriot living in Russia – a bouquet of 101 roses. It made happy both the addressee and Ada. Next orders did not take long to wait. She bought the necessary materials from Martuni stores, and now she is searching in the capital, since there are almost none left in Martuni.

Electricity is required to make each bouquet or composition, so Adela works in parallel with power outages. Each bouquet requires time and dedication, and new ideas. Ada has clients both in Artsakh and abroad.

“I am glad that customers who are far from their homeland and their relatives have the opportunity to give a little smile and joy to their loved ones through my works,” she said.

Along with bouquets, Adela also accepts orders for gift packages.

Despite the fact that she chose the profession of a teacher, which has yet to be studied, she firmly decided to master in this profession too, and present new beautiful works to customers.

“I am sure that we will be able to resist and overcome all the difficulties. The big goal starts with a small step. We will be a support for each other, and with new ideas and goals we will try to overcome the difficulties that have arisen.”
