The Investigative Committee, following searches at 21 companies, announced the decision to detain the former head of the State Revenue Committee

The Investigative Committee of Armenia announced the decision to detain the former chairman of the State Revenue Committee after searches were conducted at his apartment, his son’s apartment, as well as at the offices and branches of about 21 related companies.
The Investigative Committee did not disclose the name of the former head of the State Revenue Committee, only indicating his initials — G. Kh., which correspond to the former head of the committee, Gagik Khachatryan.
According to the agency, the decision to detain the individual has been made for submission to the court. The investigative actions were carried out as part of criminal proceedings related to the receipt of a bribe and money laundering on an especially large scale.
