Argam Abrahamyan to remain in custody: Court of Appeal rejects complaint

Argam Abrahamyan, son of Hovik Abrahamyan, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and son-in-law of Gagik Tsarukyan, Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, will remain in custody. The Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia rejected the complaint against his arrest, which had been under review by Sevak Hambardzumyan, a well-known judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal.

According to the report, the judge is hesitant to make a decision.

Argam Abrahamyan was detained and placed in custody for two months in August 2026 on charges of inciting a contract killing.
