Some opposition figures did their dirty work, helped Pashinyan stay in power: Samvel Karapetyan

Samvel Karapetyan, Leader of the Strong Armenia party, noted in an interview with the 24news TV channel that during the pre-election period, their party held meetings with those forces that represent the true opposition and share a single goal, which is to free the country from the “power of evil.” However, there are also opposition forces that did their dirty work.

According to him, consolidation with all forces would not work out; it would be a very dangerous step.

“They said the same thing during the pre-election period. But that would mean destroying us, destroying the idea of ‘Strong Armenia.’ If everyone comes with their own ambitions and becomes part of your political force, you become just like the rest. I know there are opposition forces that criticize us, but these forces need to account for themselves as to what purpose they served by helping Pashinyan stay in power. We did our part of the job, and they gave our votes to Pashinyan. Now every day they want to appear in various studios with smart faces, expressing opposition views. There will be no union with such forces. As for the forces that are ready to accept our ideology that this government must go, we have held meetings with all of them, everyone’s approach is the same, and we will certainly see the result of all this,” Karapetyan said.
