Armenia has confirmed the official change of ownership of the country’s second-largest copper mine, in Teghut. It is now backed by an American entity linked to the new overseer of the development of the “Trump Route” (TRIPP).
Texas-registered Dynamic Frontier Holdings has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Teghut CJSC. The deal was approved by Armenia’s antimonopoly commission back in July, and on September 3 the company announced final clearance from the US Treasury, even though the main previous shareholder was the sanctioned Russian bank VTB.
The central figure in the deal is financier Konstantin Sokolov. He serves as manager at Dynamic Frontier and heads the TRIPP+ venture fund, which is linked to the US State Department. In Washington, the fund is viewed as a tool for financing the infrastructure of TRIPP and the “Middle Corridor.” Sokolov was also among Donald Trump’s private donors.
