Nikol P. officially becomes “Armenian Zelensky” in this case: Andranik Tevanyan

Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the Mother Armenia party, has published an address from the Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary.

“The trial in the case ‘fabricated’ against us on the illegal order of citizen Nikol P. has been closed. We are forbidden from disclosing the details of this ‘case.’ We are forbidden to speak, yet the Հ1 TV channel continues to spread brazen lies, circulating accusations that the investigative bodies have rejected.

Nikol P. is holding a closed trial for two main reasons:

1. The brazen lies he spread during the election period have collapsed, and he wants the truth to be available to as few people as possible.
2. He still hopes to benefit from the EAEU and does not want to give this anti-Russian ‘case’ wide publicity, since otherwise it would turn out that Armenia is officially and with great fanfare declaring war on Russia.

Because the trial is closed but concerns Armenia’s security architecture and Armenian-Russian relations, the public must be informed about the ‘charges’ brought and about the consequences that another anti-state and anti-Armenian adventure by Nikol P. could lead to.

What, in the end, is this ‘case’ even about? According to Nikol P., treason and espionage are:

1. Being a politician and holding anti-government views (incidentally, this sentence is taken from the concluding part of the indictment presented to me);
2. Viewing Russia not as an enemy but as a strategic ally, advocating the development of Armenian-Russian relations, and opposing the withdrawal of the 102nd military base in Gyumri;
3. Opposing the transformation of the border delimitation and demarcation process into an exercise in unilateral concessions by Armenia, opposing service to the Turkish-Azerbaijani agenda, and advocating that demarcation and demarcation be carried out on the basis of an agreed, precise map.

This is an unprecedented geopolitical trial. In the history of independent Armenia, there has never been a case in which contacts with Russian political and expert circles were treated as espionage on behalf of an enemy state. That is exactly what I am accused of.

In this case, Nikol P. officially becomes the ‘Armenian Zelensky.’ In Ukraine, contacts with Russia are considered espionage and treason, and now Nikol P. is acting the same way.

Accordingly, the court must decide whether Armenia is following the path of Ukrainization (that is, turning into ruins) or not.

The court must decide whether Armenia will remain a state or become ‘Western Azerbaijan.’

And third, the court must also decide whether opposition political activity in the Republic of Armenia constitutes treason or not.
