Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, said that, in his view, the TRIPP project being implemented in Armenia will not become a competitor to routes through Georgia.

“As for the TRIPP route, which is an alternative route, we do not consider it a competitor. One simple reason is that cargo turnover along the Middle Corridor has grown so significantly that there is an objective need for diversification,” he said.

In this context, the Georgian prime minister pointed, in particular, to the expansion of the Poti port and the modernization of the railway.
