Armenia’s NSS does not deny information about the possible infiltration of three Azerbaijanis into Meghri and the search for them.
The incident was reported by the outlet 24News, which noted that in the village of Kuris in Meghri, which borders Azerbaijan, residents saw three people in civilian clothes at night who, according to eyewitnesses, were most likely Azerbaijanis. After speaking with the men, they disappeared, and a search operation immediately began in the village and its surroundings. One resident told 24News that, besides the Armenian services, border guards from the local Russian post joined the search with their own drones.
Speaking to the media, David Hovhanjanyan, head of the Kuris community, did not provide clear information about the incident, but did not deny the rumors that have spread either. “It happened at night, contact the law enforcement bodies,” he said, adding that there is no panic in the village at the moment.
A resident of one of the neighboring villages also confirmed the information to the outlet, noting that they have been searching for several hours but have not found anyone yet.
