Azerbaijan has lost a case at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) over the four-day April War, Liparit Drmeyan, former head of the Office of the Representative on International Legal Matters at the Prime Minister’s Office, said on Facebook.
“On November 2, a panel of five judges of the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights rejected Azerbaijan’s request for referral of the ECHR judgment delivered in favor of the Armenian applicants in the case concerning the four-day April War of 2016. The ECHR judgment of June 18 has therefore become final, and it will be a cornerstone for considering similar pending and future applications.
Azerbaijan, which declares at the highest level that it does not recognize the ECHR’s jurisdiction and has stopped cooperating with the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, recalls the importance of legal processes and files complaints whenever it suits it,” he wrote.
