US welcomes Turkiye’s role in resolving Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict

The United States welcomes Turkiye’s productive role in resolving the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Spokesperson of the US State Department Matthew Miller said at a press briefing on Thursday.

“I will say that in all of our conversations—or all the conversations between the Secretary—between Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Fidan, that is a topic that comes up as part of the conversation.

We welcome Turkiye playing a productive role in resolving this conflict. We agree with what the foreign minister said, that peace is conflict and we—or is possible and we would support direct talks between the two parties to achieve that,” Miller said.
