Luxembourg’s Bettembourg commune allocates €11,5 to forcibly displaced people from Artsakh

Luxembourg’s Bettembourg commune has announced the project aimed at helping displaced people from Artsakh. Each resident of the commune donated €1, resulting in a total of €11,5.

On November 1, the VIVA charitable foundation, which provides assistance to displaced persons, announced five medium-term and long-term relief programs for our compatriots from Artsakh.

As noted in the foundation’s press release, the initiative was undertaken thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Ambassador to Luxembourg, Tigran Balayan, who appealed to a number of communities and private organizations not only to provide assistance to the displaced persons but also to raise awareness about the humanitarian disaster.

The Bettembourg commune, as well as Mayor Laurent Zeimet and members of the municipality, Gusty Graas and Robbie Bisser, responded to his call. The money collected was transferred to the VIVA Charitable Foundation.

The funds will be directed to the “Motherhood and Childhood” program, which provides medical and social support to 320 pregnant women from Artsakh, under the sponsorship of the foundation.
