Lilia Amirkhanyan: Economy in Armenia has risen due to external factors

In 2022, no progress was made in the real sector of the Armenian economy, economist Lilia Amirkhanyan told Alpha News.
“Back in 2022, when we had high economic growth, we already talked about certain risks and challenges. However, no progress was made in the real sector of the economy. That is, this growth was not due to an increase in the production capacity of our economy or technological development, but simply to external factors,” Amirkhanyan said.
According to the economist, if external impulses fade, the Armenian economy will weaken.
“At any moment, as soon as these impulses weaken, our economy will suffer a recession. Today we are actually witnessing the gradual implementation of these forecasts. We feel the weakening of these external factors in other macroeconomic indicators,” Amirkhanyan said.
