Founder of Alpha News, PhD in Political Sciences and Professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations Viktor Soghomonyan noted during our live broadcast that we, Armenians, are busy with our problems and do not follow the events happening in the world.

“For obvious reasons, we are immersed and busy with our problems, with our Artsakh tragedy, and very often we don’t even notice what is happening in the world. Such events are taking place in the world, which you cannot call anything other than revolutionary or, I would even say, super-revolutionary, for several reasons.

The war that is taking place in Ukraine today, the Russian-Ukrainian, or rather the Russian-Western war, where a breakthrough was predicted over the past year, and today Russia is on the verge of victory, according to the opinion of the majority of analysts and military experts,” Viktor Soghomonyan said.

According to Soghomonyan, it will bring a status quo that has never existed in the world.

“It will bring the change, the status quo, which has not existed in the world since 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed. That is, the unipolar regime will cease to exist and a multipolar system will be developed instead. We will not have the power of one region around the world, but there will be several states—I think at least three—that will predetermine the developments of the future decades and the world order that will be established. Can you imagine what kind of change it will bring to the region?” our interlocutor noted.

According to Soghomonyan, if Russia wins the war, it can be relied on in terms of security.

“We are getting an ally—Russia at least considers us an ally—that is returning to the role of a superpower, that has a huge army, battle-hardened and armed with advanced weapons. It is a state that, from a security point of view, you can absolutely rely on without a second thought. I believe the status that Russia will acquire after the victory will mean, for example, that if there is a Russian military base in the territory of your country, it is better to stay away from you if Russia considers you its ally,” Viktor Soghomonyan concluded.
