Azerbaijani Airlines pays 90,000 euros to Armenia for flights to and from Nakhichevan in 2023

Azerbaijani Airlines paid approximately 90,000 euros to Armenia for flights to and from Nakhichevan in 2023, said the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia in response to Sputnik Armenia’s inquiry.

Azerbaijani Airlines has been using the airspace of Armenia since October 6, 2021, to operate passenger flights from Baku to Nakhichevan.

The company’s subsidiary, Buta Airways, was also flying on the same route. In October 2023, Azerbaijani Airlines and Buta Airways merged.
