Armenia wants to get economic advantages for itself, says military expert
Speaking with Alpha News, military expert Boris Rozhin commented on the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to St. Petersburg for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) meeting and its impact on Armenian-Russian relations.
According to the expert, there will be no drastic changes in relations between Russia and Armenia after Pashinyan’s visit to the EAEU meeting.
“I doubt that there will be any drastic changes, because the latest steps taken by Nikol Pashinyan clearly showed the real attitude of the Armenian leadership towards Eurasian entities. The cooperation with the entities of the USA, NATO, France and other hostile countries was directed primarily against the interests of Russia and the interests of the South Caucasus. So here we need to distinguish between words and actions.
It may be noted that the Prime Minister of Armenia focused on economic aspects in relations with Russia. That is, it is necessary to change approaches, especially to the energy market. It is obvious that official Yerevan is trying to get some economic advantages for Armenia because Armenia is quite economically dependent on Russia,” Rozhin said.
