The Primate of the Brazilian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Nareg Berberian, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas.

“Dear Armenian people, on the occasion of the New Year and especially the coming of the Savior into the world in a few days, I convey to all of you my blessing, love and best wishes from faraway Brazil.

The year was difficult and full of losses for the Armenian world. Our country has reduced in size again. We lost a part of our Motherland, consecrated by the martyrdom of brave heroes. We continue to endure pain and bitterness in our souls and hearts.

Truly, today’s difficult situation in Armenia has deprived us of the natural joy of both daily life and New Year’s Eve. On the eve of the Holy Nativity of the Infant Jesus coming in a few days, we are full of faith that the ‘Sun of Justice’ will shine again in the Armenian sky.

The Armenian people, who have been going through a lot of suffering for centuries, have proved to the world that we are not a dying nation. Despite thousands of ‘unsolvable’ issues, we will continue to move towards the Almighty God and our sacred national ideas.

May all our aspirations come true in the New Year 2024, both in personal and family life as well as in our country’s life. May the abiding love, mercy and protection of the Lord always be with you all. Amen.

Bishop Nareg Berberian, who always prays for you,” reads the message of the Primate of the Diocese.
