Iran’s FM: The Metsamor NPP does not pollute the Araks River with radioactive substances

The technical report and examination conducted by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirmed that the Araks River was not polluted as a result of the operation of the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Armenia, said Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

In August 2022, the Azerbaijani Trend News Agency reported that the Metsamor NPP allegedly dumps 12,000-16,000 cubic meters of radioactive waste into the Araks River every day.
