On January 4 and 5, the Heritage and Progress Foundation for Development and Support of Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Initiatives organized New Year’s events for 1,600 forcibly displaced Artsakh children from 3 to 10 years old in the towns of Masis and Artashat in the Ararat region of Armenia.

These towns were chosen due to the largest number of displaced persons living there.

Gifts and sweet sets were prepared for children. The interactive show, with the participation of Santa Claus and children’s favorite cartoon characters, was also part of the event.

Armais Kamalov, President of the Foundation, congratulated the children and their parents on New Year’s Eve.

“Since 2021, we have supported the initiative of holding New Year’s Eve for Karabakh children. Together with the members of our foundation, we want to create an unforgettable holiday, to make children smile and, despite all the difficulties, to regain faith in good things and help them create their future,” he said.

“We welcome such projects. For our part, we are ready to help the families of Karabakh Armenians who have arrived or will arrive in Russia,” said Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights.

The foundation’s team will celebrate the Old New Year on January 13 with Artsakh children living in the town of Hrazdan in the Kotayk region of Armenia.
