Armen Abazyan removed as NSS director

By decree of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Armen Abazyan was removed from the post of Director of the National Security Service.

“Taking the Prime Minister’s proposal as a basis, according to Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, and Article 2, Part 2 of the bill on amendments to the ‘Law on Service in National Security Bodies’, the decision was made to relieve Armen Abazyan of his post of Director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia,” the decree reads.

Armen Abazyan has served as Director of the National Security Service since November 8, 2020.
