Russian and Iranian Defense Ministers discuss regional security

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

“A phone conversation between Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu and Iranian Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, took place today,” the ministry said in a press release.

The sides discussed bilateral military and technical cooperation and exchanged views on security in the region.
