Robert Beglarian: Iran cannot allow any encroachments on the Iranian-Armenian border
When asked about Iran’s transit role in transporting Indian weapons to Armenia, Iran reiterated its position, noting that it supports the strengthening of Armenia, Iranian MP Robert Beglarian told Alpha News.
“Iran opens its doors to Armenia, cooperating both in the defense, economic and diplomatic spheres. Iran is confident that regional problems must be resolved with the help of regional players. Unfortunately, today two countries, Azerbaijan and Turkey, are working in the opposite direction and are making sure that there is no stability in the region. Iran is concerned that other events may occur in the region,” Beglarian said.
He stressed that official Tehran will do everything possible to ensure stability on the Iranian-Armenian border.
“Iran’s military, political, and further economic development should not allow its geographical connections in the north to be disrupted, especially when Iran’s most reliable part passes through Armenia. This is a matter of life and death, and Iran cannot allow any encroachments on the Iranian-Armenian border,” Beglarian concluded.
