“I want to assure you that Greece, from a diplomatic point of view, will always be by your side in terms of formulating and reaching a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, because it is a stable agreement between Yerevan and Baku that will open the way to a better future for the South Caucasus,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at a briefing with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He noted that, in this context, Greece supports the Crossroads of Peace project proposed by Armenia.
“Only shared prosperity can silence weapons, only the development of nations can thwart the program of totalitarian leaders,” he said.
He added that Greece welcomes further development of defense cooperation with Armenia, recalling that back in December, the two countries signed an agreement on military and technical cooperation.
According to Mitsotakis, Armenia and Greece have a unified approach to the situation in the region, opposing the use of force or threat of force. “We discuss mechanisms for strengthening further cooperation with Armenia,” he said.
