Armenian Language Day celebrated in Russian Sochi

The Union of Armenians of the Russian city of Sochi, together with the Ararat studio, held an event dedicated to the International Day of Mother Language in Armenia on February 27.

It was decided to combine two occasions: the birthday of great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan and Book Giving Day.

The students of the Ararat studio performed Armenian national dances, a sketch based on Hovhannes Tumanyan’s fairy tale ‘Barekendan’, sang songs, and recited poems in Armenian.

The teachers of secondary and Sunday schools in all Sochi districts were awarded letters of gratitude. The students of the Ararat studio were given books as a present from the Armenian community.
