On March 11, historian and philologist Nune Mkhitaryan will give a lecture on the history of Armenian paganism and mythology at the Armenian Museum in Moscow, Russia.

The pagan religion of ancient Armenia was part of the entire culture of Asia Minor. Before archeology and ethnography evolved into separate historical disciplines, pagan heritage was considered and studied as a part of historical science.

Poems, paintings, and plays were written about the myths, with the stories about the battle between Hayk and Bel, Vahagn Vishapakagh (Vahagn the Dragon Reaper), Tork, and Ara the Handsome becoming popular.
