UN hopes peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed 

The UN hopes that a peace treaty will be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Dennis Francis, said at the XI Global Baku Forum on Friday.

He added that the UN General Assembly commended the resumption of meetings between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the meeting in Munich followed by a meeting between the countries’ foreign ministers.

“We believe and expect that additional steps will be taken to achieve peace and security and to make and restore progress,” Francis said.
