Armenia and Azerbaijan are closer to peace than ever, says Azerbaijani official
The last six months have become one of the calmest periods on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the history of the two countries, Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev said during a program devoted to Azerbaijan on the Chinese Phoenix TV channel.
“Today, Armenia and Azerbaijan are closer to peace than ever. The last six months have been one of the calmest periods on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the history of the two countries. Negotiations held for 30 years under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group, co-chaired by France and the United States, have been virtually ineffective. Today, peace is closer than ever; de facto, peace prevails in the region,” he said.
