Several thousand people attended the Easter liturgy, which took place at the St. Ghevontiants Cathedral in the city of Burbank, and there were also a lot of people outside, Norayr Poghosyan, an employee of the Western Diocesan Headquarters of the Armenian Apostolic Church, told Alpha News.

“Over the past 4-5 years, I have noticed that the number of churchgoers is increasing every year. But it should be noted that the number of people is increasing due to those who come from Armenia, as well as from other Armenian-populated colonies,” he added.

He emphasized that many of our compatriots find peace in the church; besides, today, the church is a unifying force.

“Today it turned out that the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, with its dozens of churches, has become the spiritual, educational, scientific, cultural, and literary center for Armenians. Where else should people go, if not to church? Today, it has become a unifying force for many Armenians. During church ceremonies, people put aside all differences and become one. There is no other institution that could unite Armenians in different parts of the world in this way,” Norayr Poghosyan concluded.
