Events dedicated to the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide were organized in different parts of the world. On April 24, a candlelight ceremony was held near the Kenats Khach Memorial in the city of Mislata, Valencian Community, commemorating the innocent victims of the Genocide.
As Orer.eu reports, Ararat Ghukasyan, the head of the local Armenian community, underscored the importance of continuing the struggle for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, since, according to him, oblivion leads to a repetition of catastrophes, which we are witnessing now in this so-called democratic 21st century.
On April 18, the Federation of Armenian Organizations in the Netherlands and the local Armenian community started a series of commemorative events for the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Armenian, Dutch, and other politicians, public figures, members of Armenian organizations, and different communities laid flowers and wreaths near the first khachkar memorial at the Assen De Boskamp Cemetery and the largest memorial complex in Almelo to honor the innocent victims.
