Armznewspaper published an article about Carahunge, an archaeological site near the town of Sisian in the Syunik region.
“Armenia is full of archaeological surprises. It is a country where mysterious stories appear at every corner and most of them still wait to be solved. However, one of the greatest stories of prehistoric Armenia relates to the Army Stones, a riddle hidden between a marvelous construction of megaliths,” the article reads.
The article presents in detail the history of the Armenian ancient site. It notes that to this day, Zorats Karer remains a perfect place to observe the sky.
Zorats Karer is located on a mountain plateau at an altitude of 1,770 meters (5,810 ft) above sea level. The site is rich with stone settings, burial cists, and standing stones. Historians say that the complex was built no later than 5.7–2 thousand BC.
