Raya Nazaryan elected Speaker of Bulgarian Parliament
Raya Nazaryan has been elected Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament with 131 votes in favor, 66 against and 39 abstentions, BTA reports.
After the election, Nazaryan noted in her speech that the parliament, regardless of the degree of public trust, is the only platform for legitimizing the executive and legislative powers.
“Therefore, it is the common responsibility of each of our representatives to ensure the regulation of the political process and meet the public’s expectations of stability, security, and justice,” she said.
Nazaryan noted that the MPs can count on her for dialogue, fairness, equality, and unconditional compliance with the statutes, laws, and regulations of the parliament.
