Speaking with Alpha News, information security expert Samvel Martirosyan commented on the Internet outage in Armenia and noted that it can happen not only in the territory of Armenia but also in Georgia.

“We have internet outages several times a year. They can be in our territory or in Georgia. Builders do not know where the Internet cable goes, and they are often not even interested in it. The cable is not deep enough to withstand construction work. It is clear that the cable passes through the territories inhabited by Azerbaijanis. It facilitates possible targeted actions with our Internet connection,” Samvel Martirosyan said.

He noted that it is necessary to diversify the Internet cable as much as possible so that it does not get damaged.

“There is no need to talk about some magic wand that will prevent Internet outages. This is not possible. If we want this, then the cheap satellite option will do. It is cheap if you use it as a backup feature. It is clear that cable remains the most stable option of the Internet today. It is necessary to diversify the Internet cable as much as possible,” he concluded.
