Elina Avanesyan now officially represents Armenia – WTA’s update

Russian tennis player of Armenian origin, No. 58 Elina Avanesyan has been listed as a representative of Armenia, not Russia, in the new ranking of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) since August 5. The information about the tennis player’s sports citizenship has been updated.

Earlier, Karen Giloyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, reported about 21-year-old Avanesyan’s plans to change her sports citizenship. Her profile currently displays the Armenian flag.
