5 TV Channel ready to allocate airtime for Shoghakat’s spiritual and cultural programs

Armenia’s 5 TV Channel has announced its readiness to provide airtime for the spiritual and cultural programs of the church-run television channel Shoghakat, which will cease operations on January 1 following a decision by the Armenian government. The announcement was made by 5 TV Channel’s Executive Director, Harutyun Harutyunyan.

The government’s justification for the move stated that it was based on amendments to the Law on Audiovisual Media adopted on October 24, 2025.
