The Journalist House in the Russian city of St. Petersburg hosted an exhibition “50×70. Armenia”, showcasing the unusual and amazing corners of the country, captured by photographer Yuri Molodkovets and photojournalist Maria Sherikh.

This October, Molodkovets and Sherikh attended the media assembly “At the Foot of Ararat. Partnership for the Future”, organized by the Commonwealth of Journalists with the support of the Presidential Grant Program and the Union of Journalists of Russia.

“I was amazed by the ancient churches of the 7th century and the fantastically beautiful temple architecture of Armenia of the 10–11th centuries. I was stunned by the beauty of Armenia in every aspect—marvelous cities, architecture, nature, and, of course, people. In an hour or two, we not only learned a lot about our new acquaintances but also became really close to these people,” said Molodkovets, who visited Armenia for the first time.

Maria Sherikh admitted that the most important thing for her on this trip was the unusual flavor of the country and the kindness and friendliness of its people.

The exhibition at the Journalist House includes only part of the shots taken during this trip; many other works will be presented by journalists in May 2024 at the Hermitage Museum during the 18th International Media Forum “Dialogue of Cultures”.

In addition, a joint Russian-Armenian documentary is being created, which will be called “At the Foot of Ararat”.

The exhibition at the Journalist House will last until January 6.
