70‑year‑old Vagif Khachatryan, held in captivity in Azerbaijan, hospitalized in critical condition

According to Azerbaijani media reports citing the country’s Ministry of Justice, Vagif Khachatryan’s health has sharply deteriorated. He developed breathing difficulties and chest pains. After intensive therapy and resuscitation measures, he was transferred to a state medical facility. His condition is currently assessed as critical.

Khachatryan was abducted by Azerbaijani military forces while traveling from Artsakh to Yerevan for medical treatment, accompanied by representatives of the ICRC.
