A new civilizational beginning is taking shape before our eyes, the Turkic world, Professor Khachik Galstyan said during a discussion titled “The New World Order and Armenia’s Geopolitical Choice” at the Eurasia-Armenia expert platform.

“It seems that a multipolar world order is now taking shape before our eyes. It implies answers to a number of questions: what are the main centers of gravity, and which poles will be formed? First of all, there is the Russian world, the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation. Russia is enduring competition for the right to be part of the new world order. Before our eyes another new civilizational beginning is taking shape, and this greatly worries us. This is the Turkic world. And Turkic integration and identity represent one of the greatest threats to our national security. As for the Armenian factor, it has always been important in the region as a transitional or buffer zone between West and East,” he said.

According to Galstyan, in recent years, under the conditions of a changing global order, Armenia has turned into one of the hot spots of the Eurasian space. At present, he said, Armenia is at the stage of diversification.
