On October 25, Harpers Wine & Spirit Trade Review released an article entitled “Armenia: A rising Caucasus star?”, telling about series of events in the UK aimed at raising the profile of Armenian wines.
“This mountainous former Soviet republic in the south Caucasus has long traditions of Christianity and hospitality, and an ancient wine culture that dates back Millenia,” the article’s author writes, adding that wine-making traditions go back 6,100 years, as excavations near the village of Areni 13 years ago proved.
The article notes that despite advances, the Armenian wine producers remain largely off radar in the UK.
